Cat’s eye stone, considered to be a symbol of good luck, can protect its owner from poverty and prosperity and live a long and healthy life. That’s why many people love cat’s eye stones! Cat’s eye is a noble gemstone, and a quality cat’s eye weighing a few carats is usually very precious, and its price can be comparable to that of a quality emerald or ruby.
Legend has it that in the ancient Sri Lankan mountain of Baihu, there lived an old man who kept a cat, and the old man and the cat were dependent on each other. Later, the cat gave a dream to the old man. The old man went to dig the cat to see, only to see the cat’s eyes hard as a pearl, and a bright band in the middle, very beautiful. So the old man buried one of the cat’s eyes in the mountain, and the other cat’s eye was eaten, so the old man became immortal, and later the mountain became famous for producing cat’s eye gems.
In fact, the first gold emeralds were found in alluvial mines, and most of the places where they are currently mined are in slope deposits. The formation of primary chrysoberyl is related to the interaction of beryllium-bearing volatile components of the molten bodies of the upstriking granites with chromium-rich ultramafic rocks.
For this reason, primary gold emeralds are mostly produced in emerald-bearing clinopyroxene interspersed with ultramafic rocks, which geologists call gas-forming hydrothermal deposits, and like many emerald formations, all gold and emeralds tend to grow together.
The cat’s eye stones produced in Sri Lanka are of the best quality in the world and are exported all over the world and are loved by very many people. Especially the honey-colored one, it has a very peculiar phenomenon, when you put two cat’s eyes together, under the spotlight, and hold the stone in your hand and turn it, the cat’s eye will open and close, very amazing.
The variant of chrysoberyl with cat’s eye effect is called cat’s eye stone; the variant with color-changing effect is called variegated stone, both are varieties of high-grade gemstones, both are extremely rare and valuable. Among all gemstones, there are many varieties with cat’s eye effect, but only chrysoberyl with cat’s eye effect can be directly called cat’s eye in the national standard.
